From March 17 to 20, 2025, Panama hosted over 50 experts in commercial arbitration and dispute resolution from the Americas and Europe during Panama’s Arbitration & ADR Week 2025, organized by the Center for Conciliation and Arbitration of Panama (CeCAP) in collaboration with leading national and international institutions.

This event served as a platform for learning, debate, and strategic networking in arbitration and alternative dispute resolution methods. The agenda featured panel discussions, keynote lectures, networking sessions, and social events, covering crucial topics such as sports arbitration, national and international arbitration, mediation and conciliation, and dispute boards in construction contracts.

At LOVILL, we reaffirm our commitment to the growth of arbitration in Panama and the region, serving as a Diamond Sponsor and organizer of the CIAC Jóvenes and Panama Young Arbitrators (PANYARB) Conference, a platform dedicated to training and developing the next generation of legal professionals.

Our Senior Associate, Christopher Glasscock, participated as a speaker in the panel “Oral Litigation: Strategies and Best Practices”, alongside Lucero García Silva (Peru) and Munia El Harti Alonso (Spain), moderated by Mariel Padilla (CeCAP Panama).

The session focused on best practices in arbitration litigation, emphasizing the importance of preparation, effective advocacy, and audience management.

Regarding the significance of arbitration training, Glasscock emphasized:
“The arbitration conference for young lawyers reaffirms PANYARB’s commitment to Panama’s youth, offering comprehensive participation to the new generation of legal practitioners. We strive to develop ethical, responsible professionals equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to practice law with a profound sense of justice—both for their clients and for society at large. They are the new generation of arbitration practitioners in Panama and the region.”
