The Ministry of Public Works (MOP) has launched the bidding process for the Rehabilitation, Maintenance, and Operation of the Panamericana Oeste Highway, a key initiative aimed at improving connectivity and boosting strategic sectors such as trade, logistics, and tourism in Panama.

This project, covering 192 kilometers from Loma Campana (Capira) to Santiago (Veraguas), will be developed under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, encouraging investment and optimizing road infrastructure in line with international standards.

At LOVILL, we are proud to have been part of this process, providing legal advisory services for the structuring of the project alongside the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Deloitte, Peyco, and other strategic partners. Our legal experts, Cristina López – Founding Partner, and Jeannette Bravo – Partner, played a key role in developing the legal framework to ensure a solid, transparent bidding process aligned with international best practices.

This project is expected to benefit approximately 282,000 daily users, improving access to the Pacific region, fostering investment in the beach corridor, and optimizing the transportation of goods and agricultural products between the country’s interior and the capital.

At LOVILL, we reaffirm our commitment to Panama’s development by leveraging our expertise in legal structuring for impactful infrastructure projects.
