The Panamanian State assumes full ownership of Petroterminal de Panamá, S.A.
In one of the most significant strategic infrastructure transactions in Panama in recent years, LOVILL acted as legal counsel to NIC Holding Corp. in the transfer of its shares in Petroterminal de Panamá, S.A., (PTP) to the Panamanian State, in a transaction of major significance for the country’s energy infrastructure sector. The transaction, formalized through the exercise of a contractual repurchase right, grants the Republic of Panama 100% control of the company’s share capital.
With this transaction, the Panamanian State assumes full ownership of PTP for the first time, a fundamental infrastructure asset for the interoceanic transport of hydrocarbons in the region. We express our gratitude to NIC Holding Corp. for trusting our team to assist them in this landmark transaction, which was led by Isabel Cristina López, alongside Alejandro Fung Mangravita, Christopher Glasscock and Gabriel Silva.
This mandate reaffirms LOVILL’s position as a leading firm in complex infrastructure transactions and high-impact strategic assets, both nationally and internationally.
